1. The diesel generator set should be installed in a well ventilated, clean environment, and near the main electrical equipment and distribution room in the machine room. The machine room of a closed diesel generator set generally does not require forced ventilation, and can be ventilated outdoors through the fan carried by the unit to promote air convection inside the machine room. If necessary, a fan can be installed for forced ventilation in the machine room of an open diesel generator set. In a location far away from the diesel generator set, use a fan and a large-diameter inlet duct to introduce outdoor air into the machine room. The air outlet of the intake pipe should be as low as possible, so that the introduced air can pass over the heat dissipation part of the generator set. The exhaust fan should be installed at an inner high position to timely discharge the high-temperature rising airflow outside.
2. Good combination of ventilation and dust prevention. There must be sufficient fresh air in the engine room, otherwise dirty air will reduce the power of the diesel engine. Dust can damage the insulation between engine rotors and, in severe cases, burn out the generator set. If the ventilation is good, the moisture resistance will inevitably decrease appropriately. Excessive consideration of dust prevention will affect the ventilation of the generator room. The seemingly contradictory aspects require the design personnel of the generator room to calculate and coordinate according to the actual situation to achieve a good combination.
3. The spatial layout should be reasonable. The distance between diesel generator sets and the distance from the unit outline to the wall should meet the needs of handling equipment, on-site operation, maintenance and repair, or arranging auxiliary equipment.
4. Equipped with fire extinguishing devices, ensuring safety: dry powder fire extinguishers. Including handheld and wheeled models; Dry powder automatic fire extinguishing device. An independent hanging type is sufficient, which can automatically start extinguishing a fire when there is no one on duty.
